October 1988
Two detailers saw a need in the market for a quality product and schedule driven drafting company. Dave Muir and Terry Devine established M&D Drafting Ltd. in a small office in Edmonton, Alberta. After just one year they relocated to a larger office and built the company to 24 qualified staff.
January 2001
M&D Drafting Ltd. purchased land and constructed the current 15,000 sqft state of the art Edmonton office. They continued to expand to 40 staff.
April 2003
Prior to the acquisition of M&D Drafting, Brian Pyper of Waiward Steel Fabricators Ltd. moved back to British Columbia. He established the M&D Langley office. It grew to 18 detailers within 3 years.
April 2007
M&D Drafting British Columbia office relocated from the Langley location into a new building in Cloverdale, Surrey. Occupying the entire 10,000 sqft upper floor it grew from 18 to 34 staff within 14 months.
May 2008
M&D Drafting Ltd. now has a combined staff of 94. The staff is built up of Detailers, Project Coordinators, Data Control, IT, Engineers and Management. With a current combined floor space of 25,000 sq. ft., future plans are to build the staff compliment to over 140. Brian Pyper will be traveling to the Philippines in August to interview 30 steel detailers. M&D plan on bringing in at least 15 before the end of 2008.

M&D Drafting Ltd. celebrates 20 years of business. All of the staff came together in Edmonton to celebrate not only 20 years of excellent service to the industry, but also future growth. M&D Drafting Ltd. will continue to grow and prosper well into the future, while still maintaining the reputation as one of the industry leaders.
