We offer great support in continuing training/education and will refund 100% of the course fees and reference material costs upon successful completion of an approved course. We also promote the completion of the NISD TSD examination in both the Class 1 and Class 2.
Apprentice Training (For Junior Detailers)
As well as training in detailing, trainees will be expected to give their time to take evening courses at an approved college, one in steel fabrication and the other in steel erection. Trainees will also spend up to 4 months on site, assisting field personnel. The most junior of the trainees are expected to help with snow clearing at the office entrance, running errands as needed and small office maintenance duties.
M&D Drafting have been a major force in the establishment of the Steel Detailing apprentice program in Alberta. This program has been approved throughout Canada with steps being made in British Columbia for the same program. This will mainly be for the Junior detailers but evening courses are being organized for all steel related trades and will be available to interested staff. We pride ourselves in our team approach to all contracts, which creates a great environment for growth and communication throughout all levels. M&D Drafting Ltd prides itself in being one of the leaders in our field through the use of Tekla Structures. All of our documentation and tracking systems are fully automated and linked for complete information integration. We are working closely with designers to bring synchronization to all industries involved within current contracts. This is known through the industry as BIM and M&D Drafting Ltd is committed to staying on the cutting edge of this business approach.
